Korean and Vietnam War

The Korean War and Vietnam War were two big wars during this time period. They were exactly alike. They were both civil wars in the countries. The Northern part of the countries were influenced by communism and wanted the Southern part to do the same. Also in both wars, we, the United States, jumped into the Southern parts and helped out while communist China gave resources to the northern parts, even though we knew nothing of the countries and/or their problems. America thought that if we did not stop the spread of communism something called the "Domino Theory" would fall into action and every country surrounding the northern parts of both Korea and Vietnam would subdue to the communism, and become communists themselves. Overall we knew was that we needed to stop the spread of communism.
The Vietnam war was never-ending. More bombs were dropped during the Vietnam war than WWI and WWII. Ships played a HUGE role in the war. They were bases and battle stations. On the large aircraft carriers(Below: Black and White) out in the sea, they were the operating stations for the planes and helicopters. Those helped people on the ground and the foot soldiers were in contact with the ships too. There were also small battle boats(Below: Colored) on the Vietnamese rivers. Many of these boats were heavily armed and they were driven up and down the river and to the sea if they were in need for supplies.
